💼 The role
We are looking for a Protocol Researcher to join Rated Labs–the developer of Rated.
The world around us is moving blazingly fast, and new technologies that could augment our offering and overall mission are becoming readily available. As a Protocol Researcher at Rated, you will be spearheading the effort to make sense of the most relevant advancements in protocol specs, protocol economics, cryptography and so on, and how we might embed elements of those in our product roadmap.
This the least well defined role we’ve ever hired for, but one of the most vital and exciting. You might be a Research inclined Engineer, or conversely an Engineering inclined Researcher. You might be very strong academically, but also have a strong practical sense about you.
🛠️ The skills
You are deeply technical, and are adept at explaining advanced concepts in cryptography in simple terms. Some examples might be:
Multiples types of proofs (STARK, SNARK, Fraud proofs etc)
Circuits generation
State roots
KZG commitments & equivalent schemes
Demonstrable critical analysis skills (asks the right questions).
You are able to put your ideas together into prototypes.
👲🏼 The person
1+ years in crypto/Web3 as a Researcher, or Research Engineer, or Engineer with a strong and demonstrable interest in cryptography!
You have a strong understanding of the current Ethereum landscape and roadmap
You have a good understanding of the overall industry state of the art and direction
Mission driven and intellectually curious
Thrives in early stage environments
Is ideally based anywhere between CET-1 and CET+1
👥 The team
We’re a highly technical 12 person team (and growing!), working in a hybrid/remote set-up, with a home base in London, UK.
We are all deeply embedded in the ecosystem and are working very close to the fold, in terms of research and development in Web3 infrastructure.
